Marriage and siblings, parents and children, friendship – love is the ultimate mystery, isn’t it? Love is both the primary human need and the fundamental motivation of every human act: we’re always, always, always either trying to get love or trying to give love. It’s that basic. And as one scientist says, “love is not an abstraction but a literal neurochemical event.” We need to love and be loved. Every human pain and wound is ultimately caused by a deficit of love. Love is God’s most intimate, healing secret.
You are meant to experience this sacred exchange of Love that powers the universe, keeps it in being, and makes all things new. But how can you fully receive or give love when you’re broken, wounded, suspicious, fragmented, terrorized?
